About the Budget & Planning Committee (BPC)

Effective June 1, 2009, with the adoption of the new MiraCosta College Collegial Consultation and Governance Model, the Budget & Planning Committee (BPC) is one of six new college committees.

Responsibilities of the Budget & Planning Committee include:

  • budget development,
  • accreditation,
  • master planning,
  • program review (non-academic),
  • employment planning, and
  • all associated policies, procedures, rules, regulations, guidelines.

BPC members deliberate on matters and issues associated with BPC's areas of responsibility and make recommendations to the Academic Senate Council, the Classified Senate Council, the Administrative Council, the Associated Student Government, and/or the Superintendent/President.

The BPC reports to the Academic Senate Council, the Classified Senate Council, the Administrative Council, and the Associated Student Government. It is comprised of representatives from each of the four organizations it reports to and is led jointly by a Faculty Co-chair and an Administrative Co-chair.
