First Annual Career and Major Fair
Save the Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008 - 10a.m.-2p.m.
Career Studies & Services, University Transfer Center, and the Counseling Department will be hosting this event.
We are hoping a faculty member from each CTE program and academic major will participate. We are also inviting university representatives from high demand majors and industry professionals to this event. We are also seeking MiraCosta alumni to participate.

Student Worker of the Year Award 
Linh (Lisa) Hoang was named the 2008 MiraCosta Student Worker of the Year. Lisa works as a Veterans Assistant in the Veterans Office on the Oceanside campus and was nominated for the award by her supervisor, Treva Jackson.
A committee comprised of faculty and staff from all three campuses ranked student worker nominees on the following criteria: Reliability; Work Productivity and Quality; Initiative; Disposition, and Contributions to the College.
Lisa was selected for the award, because she is reliable, on time, and always gives 110% of her effort. She is a self starter and has a wonderful disposition. She is always willing to help in any way necessary and she completes her tasks before she leaves for the day.
To honor her for her efforts, Lisa was presented with a MiraCosta plaque and gift certificates. MiraCosta Board President Carolyn Batiste and Interim Superintendent/President John Hendrickson commended Lisa at the May 6 Board of Trustees meeting. Congratulations Lisa!
