Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT™)
The CCENT is the first exam in the 2 part certification process to obtain CCNA certification. There are 2 courses must be taken in sequence to prepare to sit for the Cisco CCENT certification exam.
Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT™) certification validates the ability to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security. With a CCENT, a network professional demonstrates the skills required for entry-level network support positions - the starting point for many successful careers in networking.
Once the CCENT has been completed, a second exam can be taken to complete the CCNA certification. Many students find it easier to focus on a smaller amount of material for each exam. There are 2 additional course that will prepare students for the second (ICND2) exam. Both tests must be passed to acquire the CCNA certification.
Students have 2 options - 1) enroll in NCVOC 66 for the first 8 weeks of the semester to complete the first course meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings, OR 2) enroll in the Open Entry class (NCVOC 11) with lectures on Tuesdays or Saturdays. The Open Entry course allows students to have more schedule flexibility and to work at their own pace. Students should NOT enroll in both NCVOC66 and NCVOC 11.
Classes begin the week of August 24th and registration is open now.
