About Moodle

Moodle is a course management system that instructors may elect to use for online courses. This page provides the basic steps for getting started with Moodle. Moodle instructors serve as the primary point-of-support for their respective courses and students, so you will need to contact your instructor directly with Moodle questions or issues not addressed here.  

To access your course follow the directions below:

1. Go to http://miracosta.mrooms.net (new window)
2. Click on the name of your course
3. If this is your first time to Moodle, Click the Create new Account button
4. Choose a Username and Password of your choice.  Be sure to put in a VALID E-Mail Address  for you.  Click the  Create my new account  button when you are done.
5. Your account will be created.    You will receive an e-mail from Moodle in your personal e-mail box (the e-mail address you used during setup).  Click on the link from within that to setup your password.
6. You are setup now.  Use this login and password for the rest of the semester to access Moodle.

Forgot your Password?

1. Go to Moodle at http://miracosta.mrooms.net (new window)
2. Click on your course name
3. Click the  Yes, help me login button
4. Enter your user name or your e-mail address you used to setup your account with Moodle.
5. Click the OK button.
6. Moodle will send you an e-mail to your e-mail address it has for your account. 
7. Enter your e-mail program and find the e-mail
8. Click on the link within that e-mail.

Need Help?

Contact your instructor for help.  To e-mail your instructor click the Send E-mail button on the left-hand side of the screen.  Then select All Instructor Users.

NOTE

Your Moodle login and password is NOT your SURF ID & Password.  The first time you login to Moodle you will create your login and password. (see directions above).  You may select any login and password you would like for use with Moodle.
