Instructor notes: This course is hybrid class that requires the student to complete reading, writing and discussion assignments for an online deadline of Tuesday at midnight each week; students then attend class on Friday mornings from 9-10:50 in preparation for which they must complete additional reading and writing assignments. The course has a heavy reading and writing load made heavier for the online components because students must read and/ or view lectures and instructions typically delivered verbally in class and interact with classmates in ways that can be more time consuming than in an onsite setting. Students will find the course available in blackboard on January 2 and the first assignments will be due on Tuesday January 14 (the second day of the first week of class). Students will need to have purchased books in order to complete assignments due for the first onsite class meeting on Friday, January17 (at the end of the first week of class).
