Walking for Fitness

Students enhance their individual health and well-being and develop positive attitudes toward life-long fitness and wellness through fitness walking. The course focuses on improving an individual's cardiopulmonary functioning, body composition, goal setting, nutritional awareness, and weight management through behavior management. UC CREDIT LIMITATION: Any or all activity courses, maximum credit, 4 units.

Can be purchased at many local sporting goods stores and Best Buy or online.


Please note ONLY the Fitbit platform can be used for this class even if you have another fitness tracker. The Fitbit software allows me to log on and see my entire class of 50-60 students all in one shot! Otherwise, I would need usernames and passwords from everyone to log on to their particular device in order to view their progress and I'm sure you can imagine what a nightmare that would be! Also this product allows me to just review your walking progress and not other items you may be tracking that you prefer to keep private!


Requried: Either you own scanner OR access to a scanner in order to scan, save, and submit scans as PDF docs in order to submit as part of assignment requirements. Note: the MiraCosta College library (OC and SAN campuses) have scanners you can use.
