Instructor notes: This is a fun and intensive course. For any on-line asynchronous course, a student must be extremely self-motivated and independent in his or her learning. With online classes you literally have to “show up”, sit yourself down, read assignments, and participate. In some cases, it may take more of your time. If you were taking this class on campus, you would be spending 3 hours per week in class and then additional hours for each hour studying on your own. For this online class, please expect to spend approximately 10 or more hours per week in order to successfully complete the course. Here are some links to see if online courses are right for you: http://www.onlinegwc.org/about_courses/2a.cfm http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/resources/tutorials/pedagogy/selfEval.asp If you would like to get a head start on the class I would start reading the following required text: Required text: Fremgen, B. If you are accepted from the waitlist, you will need to have the required textbook to start immediately. A delay in taking the quiz due to not having a textbook will result in an automatic dropping of the class.
