Children in a Diverse Society

This course examines the influence of culture on the development of children's social identities. It explores anti-bias strategies that can be utilized in parenting, classroom, or social settings to support children from diverse cultures. It also examines culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate anti-bias approaches that support children in becoming competent members of society. The course involves self-reflection of one's own understanding of educational principles in integrating anti-bias in order to better inform teaching practices and/or program development.
