Library Science

The goal of the Library Science Program is to insure students have a good foundation in information competency skills for success at MiraCosta College and after transfer to a university and/or entering the workforce. Among the more essential of these skills are the ability to:

Access library materials using an online catalog and electronic databases
Access and use information from a variety of sources and in various formats
Develop and implement a research strategy
Evaluate print and non-print sources
Communicate an understanding of the information gathered
