How does the program work?
In this program, we will encourage you to develop positive exercise habits that meet your needs. You will learn about your present level of fitness and effective strength training techniques and programs. We'll show you appropriate way to safely use our cardiovascular and resistance equipment. You will also learn how to build strength, lean muscle mass and tone specific areas using weight machines and free weights.
What's happens during Orientation?
If you are enrolled for the first time in a Wellness Center Program, you must attend an orientation meeting, held by appointment. Orientation lasts about one hour and covers the Wellness Center program, assessment and basic exercise principles. Look for the times, dates and sign up sheets in the Center.
How do I sign up?
Register in a Wellness Center program first; KINE 142 Body Conditioning / Wellness Lab and HEAL 101L Health Lab. Then, complete all necessary paperwork, your Physical Fitness Profile, and the facility use orientation.
What's my expected commitment?
Each workout should be a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 2 hours. For 1 unit credit, you should average 2 hours/2 visits a week.
In this Open Entry-Open Exit program, you work at a schedule convenient to you. A minimum of 8 weeks participation is required. Because the computer is used to keep track of your hours and participation, you need to log in and log out at every session.
