Christopher Ahrens
Christopher Ahrens joined the MiraCosta College Board of Trustees on June 17, 2008. As student trustee, Christopher represents the MiraCosta College student body and presents its views, needs and concerns to the board.
Christopher began attending MiraCosta College in 2007 and has dedicated much of his time and energy to campus life. He has worked as a MiraCosta student ambassador as well as a staff writer for the Chariot Student Newspaper. He also served as chair of the 2008 MiraCosta Student General Election Commission and is currently an active member in several MiraCosta student clubs.
Christopher believes that volunteering is a way to give back and express his gratitude to the community. He has volunteered with Tri-City, Palomar and Kaiser Permanente hospitals and has held various leadership positions in local nonprofit organizations, including his church. While Christopher has a professional background in fixed operations management, he is currently pursuing studies in fields that will allow him to serve his community.
During his tenure as student trustee, Christopher aims to encourage faculty, staff and student participation in the MiraCosta Student Senate and in student organization activities; help provide a peaceful learning environment; ensure that student rights are respected and expressed; and make fair and equitable decisions that will positively impact students.
