MiraCosta College to Host Health and Safety Fair
MiraCosta Health Services Program and the MiraCosta Police Department will be hosting a free health and safety fair on Thursday, April 10, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Student Center Quad at MirCosta College, 1 Barnard Dr., Oceanside. The health and safety fair is open to the public. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. the same day, the San Diego Blood Bank will also be holding a blood drive on campus at the same location.
The health and safety fair is designed to educate students and the community about healthy and safe lifestyles. Topics covered at the health and safety fair include birth control, HIV and other STDs, smoking cessation, mental health counseling, tattooing, ocean safety and more. Nearly two dozen local volunteer organizations and businesses will be on hand to distribute information and to answer questions. Some of the participants include MADD, Oceanside Lifeguards, SD County Sheriff’s Department, the Women’s Resource Center, Planned Parenthood and Tri-City Medical.
