MiraCosta College Board to Interview Candidates for Superintendent/President Job

The MiraCosta College governing board will interview two finalists for superintendent/president next week. At its April 15 meeting, the board accepted the recommendation of the 21-member search committee composed of representatives of the college faculty, staff, student government and the community. The committee strongly endorsed the two finalists. Interim Superintendent/President John Hendrickson, who also chaired the search committee, praised the committee and thanked members for their hard work.

Initially the board expressed concern over the limited number of candidates forwarded by the committee. Hendrickson and committee members who were present told the board that the committee followed the process as outlined at the beginning of the search and that the end result was two well-qualified candidates to recommend to the board.  The board agreed they would interview the two candidates and determine after the confidential interviews whether or not to schedule a public forum. Should a forum be scheduled, the candidates will be announced and the college community and the community at large will be invited to attend.
