STEM Camp for Ninth Graders

This four-day summer camp aims to encourage high school students from under-represented populations to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The camp brings together instructors, industry professionals and current college students from STEM fields to lead hands-on, lab-oriented class sessions that will demonstrate the power of these applied technologies. Students will also receive career guidance and mentoring.
The STEM Summer Camp is open to high school students enrolling in 9th grade this fall. Enrollment is very limited and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
College for Kids and Youth Academy

Five one-week sessions of College for Kids will be offered this summer, at MiraCostaˇ¦s Oceanside Campus, located at 1 Barnard Drive, and for the first time, also at the San Elijo Campus, located at 3333 Manchester Avenue, Cardiff. Session dates are:
June 29-July 2 at the San Elijo Campus
July 6-10 at the San Elijo Campus
July 13-17 at the Oceanside Campus
July 20-24 at the Oceanside Campus
July 27-31 at the Oceanside Campus
The program has been updated and expanded this summer to include many new classes and instructors, and includes additional supervision provided by college-aged ˇ§camp counselorsˇ¨ in every class. Kids will have the opportunity to attend a full-day curriculum to utilize even more of MiraCostaˇ¦s great facilities.
Summer Silents with Philip Carli

Renowned silent film expert, composer, and accompanist Philip Carli returns to MiraCosta for two performances. Carli will give a short talk preceding each film, then will provide live, original piano accompaniment.
