Learn About Personalized Medicine at MiraCosta Biotechnology Event
MiraCosta College’s Biotechnology Program and Club Biomed will be co-hosting the second event from their year-long biotechnology speaker series. On Friday, November 16, Dr. Jonathan Diver, director of applications and molecular laboratory at Genoptix, a Carlsbad-based company, will give a lecture entitled “Personalized Medicine.” This free event takes place at noon in the Little Theatre (Room 3601), at MiraCosta College, 1 Barnard Dr., Oceanside.
MiraCosta’s Biotechnology Program has been designed by working scientists and biotechnology companies to give students the theoretical background and practical experience necessary to gain employment in the biotechnology field. The program is designed for students who want to obtain biotechnology certificates, earn an associate in arts degree, and/or prepare to transfer to a four-year institution. Courses are also of interest to current workers in the field of biotechnology desiring to upgrade or expand their skills.
