MiraCosta Automotive Department to Receive Donation from Nissan North America
Representatives from Nissan North America, Inc. and four local Nissan dealerships are coming to MiraCosta to tour the college’s newly remodeled automotive technology facility, to discuss industry trends and to show their continued support of the Automotive Technology Program by making a generous cash donation. Nissan North America, Inc. is presenting the program with a $5,000 donation on Wednesday, November 21st at 11:45 a.m. in the auto technology building (Building 4000).
“The fact that Nissan North America has chosen to support our Automotive Technology Program is a testament to Nissan’s desire to be associated with a wonderful program led by faculty who provide students with the opportunity to gain skills that are in demand in the automotive industry,” says MiraCosta Dean of Career and Technical Education Al Taccone.
The MiraCosta College automotive faculty have worked closely with Nissan North America representatives to make them aware of MiraCosta’s program and how much their support is needed and appreciated.
“The automotive industry is constantly changing. Cash donations like this help our department keep up with new technology through the purchase of new equipment and tools, which enhances student learning and skills,” says automotive instructor Paul Katson.
