MiraCosta College to Host Creative Arts Complex Open House

On Wednesday, March 12, 4-6 p.m., MiraCosta College Interim Superintendent/President and the

Governing Board of MiraCosta College will host a celebration of the opening of the newest building in the Creative Arts Complex on the Oceanside Campus, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. 

The new 21,600-square-foot Art and Music Building in the Creative Arts Complex is home to MiraCosta’s first-rate arts program. The state-of-the-art complex houses the college’s art and music programs and includes rehearsal spaces; a performance hall; classrooms and recording studios for music students; and classroom/studios for painting, drawing, printmaking and new genre art. Another major feature of the Creative Arts Complex is the beautiful plein air studio, a covered outdoor space with a spectacular view of Oceanside—straight out to the ocean.

The March 12 celebration will include a performance by the MiraCosta Chamber Chorale at 5 p.m. and a 5:30 p.m. dedication. The community is welcome to attend and enjoy light refreshments, displays of student art and entertainment. Photographs of the building are available for download on the MiraCosta Photos page.

Directions: Building 2200 (Art and Music) is on the southwest end of the campus. From I-5, take Highway 78 east to the third exit, College Blvd. Go left (north) on College Blvd. to the third traffic light, Barnard Drive. Turn left onto Barnard Drive. After entering the campus, take the first left, proceed up the hill, past the theatre to the west side of campus. Park in lot 2B. No permit is required for this event.  From I-15, take Highway 78 west to College Blvd. (next exit after Emerald Dr. in Vista). From ramp, turn left onto Vista Way, then an immediate right onto College Blvd. Merge to the double left turn lanes to make the turn onto Barnard Drive and follow the directions above.
