Fighting Cancer the Subject of MiraCosta
Biotechnology Lecture
MiraCosta College’s nationally renowned Biotechnology Program will host oncologist Eileen Walker De Lucia on Friday, April 4 at noon in the Aztlan Room of the Student Center (Bldg. 3400) at MiraCosta College, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside. De Lucia is a clinical oncology specialist with Genentech BioOncology in San Diego. Her presentation is titled “Starving the Tumor: Cancer and Avastin.” The event is free of charge and open to the public.
MiraCosta’s Biotechnology Program has been designed by working scientists and biotechnology companies to give students the theoretical background and practical experience necessary to gain employment in the biotechnology field. The program is designed for students who want to obtain biotechnology certificates, earn an associate in arts degree, and/or prepare to transfer to a four-year institution. Courses are also of interest to current workers in the field of biotechnology desiring to upgrade or expand their skills.
