MiraCosta to Host Art Show 'Looking Out, Looking In'

MiraCosta College will host “Looking Out, Looking In,” featuring the artwork of Adam Belt and Michael Whiting.

Both artists work in a reduced, concise manner and at the same time explore large ideas. Whiting studies the world. His images take everyday objects and scenes and abstracts them. Looking in, he minimizes their forms into low-count pixel-based works. Belt’s work looks out to the universe. His use of simple materials reduces the expanse of space into tactile paintings and objects that speak as much about their materials and processes as they do the universe.

“Looking Out, Looking In” will be in the Kruglak Gallery at MiraCosta College, 1 Barnard Drive, Oceanside, October 13–November 5. Gallery hours are Monday and Tuesday 2:30–7:30 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Admission is free. A reception will be held Thursday, October 15, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and talks with the artist will be held Thursday, October 15, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
