Aaron Strunk
Before Aaron Strunk attended MiraCosta College, he disliked mathematics, which he found frustrating and difficult. That changed after he took a precalculus class with instructor David Bonds. “After that, I really began to enjoy the discipline,” he says. “I’ve now taken calculus I, II and III; differential equations; and linear calculus. I’ve also taken the full physics sequence.”
Aaron’s full load of math and science classes helped him to be one of only a handful of students across the country to be accepted into UCSD’s Bioengineering Program. “I was nervous about being accepted since UCSD’s program is impacted and they only accept about 14 students,” he explains.
However, Aaron’s high grade point average and aggressive schedule helped him make the cut. Aaron also says the guidance and support he received from the counselors at the University Transfer Center helped move him in the right direction.
“I really feel that more students need to know that the University Transfer Center is so helpful,” says Aaron. “The University Transfer Center was a huge help for me and the counselors guided me to the path with the most options.”
