MiraCosta College Presents May Concerts
April showers bring May flowers, and at
MiraCosta College
, it brings a whole bouquet! The college will present several exciting and diverse concerts during this busy spring month.
Concerts scheduled for early May include:
•Seis de Mayo Concert
Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m., in the Concert Hall, Bldg. 2400 on the Oceanside Campus, located at 1 Barnard Drive. The MiraCosta College Guitar Ensemble, under the direction of Eric Foster, will play music from south of the border with special guest artists. General admission: $10; students/seniors/staff, $8.
•Celebrate MiraCosta: A Showcase of Classical Music
Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall, Bldg. 2400 on the Oceanside Campus, located at 1 Barnard Drive. This special event will showcase solo student artists from the applied music program. Select scholarship winners will also be announced. General admission: $10; students/seniors/staff, $8. Free for music students with ID.
•Bizet’s Carmen
Saturday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall. Two performances will be held of an abridged version of George Bizet’s most famous opera, Carmen, featuring collaboration with the Pacific Lyric Association and MiraCosta College students. A special reception celebrating Mother’s Day will follow the Sunday afternoon performance.
