MiraCosta College Hires New Administrators
MiraCosta College has concluded a national search by filling three top-level administrative positions to help lead coastal North County’s largest higher education system in the coming years.
has been named as MiraCosta College’s vice president of
business and administrative services
. Ng has more than 17 years of experience with higher education institutions in California, most recently serving as the vice chancellor, fiscal services, at the San Bernardino Community College District. Ng has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from San Diego State University, an MBA from the University of Redlands, and a master's degree in advanced management from Claremont Graduate University. He will begin his post on July 1.
“This is an exciting time to be part of MiraCosta College,” Ng said. “This is a respected institution that is on the move regarding student success. It’s an honor to contribute to an institution that is growing and innovating.”
will join the MiraCosta College as dean, arts and international languages, on July 16. Fohrman, who has a strong background in planning and accreditation, currently serves in a similar capacity at San Diego Mesa College. He returned to the United States in late 2006 after spending five years in New Zealand as the director of performing arts for Te Wananga o Aotearoa (The University of New Zealand). He has a master’s degree in ethnomusicology from the University of Washington.
“MiraCosta College is highly respected, and has a reputation for superb programs and faculty,” Fohrman said. “It is a real honor to have been selected as the dean of Arts and International Languages, and I am very excited to begin working with colleagues to support the achievement of the college’s mission and goals. I am passionate about the value of education in the arts and world languages, and the extent to which it can enrich the quality of our lives and enhance our students’ success.”

public and governmental relations, marketing and communications
. Broom had served in this capacity as an interim for three years, and prior experience includes serving as the public information officer for the Butte County Sheriff’s Office. At MiraCosta College, she has implemented a variety of programs that have helped to increase student enrollment by 40 percent, resulting in a greater public awareness of the institution and enhanced employee engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from UC Santa Barbara and a master’s degree with distinction in communication studies from Cal State Chico.
“MiraCosta College has a long tradition of serving North San Diego County and plays an integral role in educating students and building our local workforce,” Broom said. “Ensuring that our community is aware of and knowledgeable about the unique educational opportunities we provide for students is a priority for the college and one that I am thrilled to carry out.”

director/instructor. Moore holds a bachelor of science in human services/management and a master’s degree in education/early childhood education, both from the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Stacey Hull
instructor, who holds a bachelor of science degree from Denison University and a doctorate from Ohio State University.
. Hughes-Mandini comes to MiraCosta College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and international studies from Azusa Pacific University and a master’s in counseling from Cal State Long Beach.

counselor. Sandoval has a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and two master’s degrees from Chapman University.

MiraCosta College serves a wide swath of North San Diego County and has an enrollment of more than 18,000 credit and noncredit students at three campuses in Encinitas and Oceanside.
