Laura Ojeda
Hi, I’m Laura Ojeda. I was born in San Diego to Mexican immigrants. I am the second eldest of five. I am a first generation college student and am attending Miracosta College because I felt it was the best decision for me. I have grown so much and reached levels I never thought I could achieve. I plan to transfer to SDSU and major in Sociology. I am currently the vice president of public relations for ASG and president of the Latina Leadership Network. Read My Blog |

Elise Cruz
Welcome Miracosta Spartans. My name is Elise Cruz, I am a third-year Communications and Business Administration student. These last semesters at MiraCosta I am determined to give it 110 percent as I hope to transfer to San Diego State University. I am involved in the Student Outreach and Diversity Program as a Student Ambassador for the past two years and in the Associated Student Government as a senator, student-at-large and currently vice president of programming for the Oceanside Campus. Being of a Hispanic background I have the desire to learn more about my culture, so I’m also part of Latina Leadership Network (LLN) at MiraCosta College. This has strengthened me to build more confidence and gain a better understanding of myself. I am now vice president of LLN, and I am encouraged to show the path to younger powerful Latinas. I love volunteering in the community and giving back serving as an ambassador for the Oceanside Community as an Oceanside Princess 2010, which has given me the will power to never give up and always shoot for stars. Michael Januzzi
My name is Michael Januzzi and I have been a student at MiraCosta College for one year now and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far. I have lived in Southern California my whole life and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2009. I am a student ambassador, which has given me a great opportunity to learn about leadership, communication and friendship. I am a political science major with a focus in international relations, and I have aspirations to transfer to UCLA in fall 2011. I am an easy going, optimistic, and open minded guy who loves to meet new people. My interests outside of school include any and all sports or outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, snowboarding and even skydiving. I live a balanced life between school, work, family and friends and hope to make a positive impact throughout the places I go and the people I meet in this great journey called life. Read My Blog |

LisaAnn Jackson
I am a MiraCosta student living the dream! My journey to this point has been beautiful, chaotic, unexpected and amazing. I am a crazy busy single mom with a full time job, four classes and an undeniable lust for the theatre! Only recently have I become a “serious” student. My decision to return to school was easy, making the commitment and the follow through was slightly more daunting. But I finally feel like I am on to something worthwhile and great! The professors at MiraCosta are a testament to greatness and have opened my eyes to a world grander then myself. Read My Blog |

France Magtira
Hello! My name is France, and I am a proud MiraCosta College graduate! I received my AA in University Studies: English and Literature in spring 2010 and now attend University of California, San Diego (UCSD) majoring in Communications with a minor in English. While I was a student at MiraCosta, I served as Japanese club president for two consecutive semesters and also worked as a student worker in the Public Information Office. Although I have officially graduated from MiraCosta, I am still very much part of the college. I am still happily employed at the PIO Department, while commuting everyday to UCSD. It's definitely a different atmosphere coming from a beautiful, small community college, to a university that deserves its own zip code!
I hope to keep my blog up to date with entries transcribing my experience as a transfer student, share stories about university life and hopefully motivate incoming and current students to further their educational goals as I have by choosing to attend an amazing institution like MiraCosta College. Cheers! Read My Blog |

Lesley Jones
My name is Lesley, and I like reading, trolling the Web for pictures of baby pandas, checking my e-mail six times a day, watching movies as soon as they come out, and having random adventures with my friends. I LOVE MIRACOSTA! The small, quiet campuses and itty bitty class sizes fit my learning style. What other school has so many PhDs on its faculty, amazing student services and baby bunnies running around campus? Read My Blog |
