Francisco C. Rodriguez, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Rodriguez was appointed superintendent/president of MiraCosta College on January 20, 2009 and started his tenure with the college on March 1. He began his community college career in 1997 at Woodland College in the Yuba Community College District, where he served as associate dean of Instruction and Student Services, and executive dean (now titled president). In 2003, he was appointed president of Cosumnes River College in Sacramento and served in that capacity for six years. Prior to beginning his community college career, Dr. Rodriguez worked for 12 years in Student Affairs at University of  California Davis serving in various capacities, including student outreach and undergraduate admissions, student leadership programs and activities, and diversity education.  While at Cosumnes River College, Dr. Rodriguez also taught in the graduate program in educational leadership at Sacramento State University.

Born and raised in San Francisco, MiraCosta President Rodriguez is a first-generation college graduate. He has a Ph.D. in education with an emphasis in community college leadership from Oregon State University, a master’s degree in community development and a bachelor’s degree in Chicano studies, both from the University of California Davis.
