California Work Opportunity & Responsibility to Kids
CalWORKs provides cash-aid, employment services and other benefits to needy families.
CalWORK’s students must be parents or guardians, and they and their children must be receiving cash-aid.
Services
- Advocacy coordination
- Career counseling
- Work study program
- Subsidized child care
- Job development & placement
- Text book purchases
- Supplies
Eligible Participants must:
- Currently be a welfare recipient receiving cash-aid for theirself and at least one child
- Be in good standing with Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA)
- Participate in the Welfare-to-Work-Activities
- Must be or plan to be, at least a part-time student
