EOPS Staff

Teresa Cerda, Coordinator
The Coordinator of EOPS is responsible for the general functioning of EOPS services with special emphasis on community contact and recruitment of EOPS student.The Coordinator acts as an advocate for change in the educational system and community, and serves as an EOPS representative on and off campus.

Yesenia Balcazar, Student Services Coordinator
The Student Services Coordinator works in cooperation with the EOPS Coordinator to provide educational, personal and career resources to the EOPS students, as well as the selection, training and supervision of the Peer Advisors and Program Aids.

Angie Cruz, EOPS Technician
The EOPS Technician works with the Coordinator of EOPS, the EOPS Counselor, the Student Services Coordinator, Program Aids and the Peer Advisors/Recruiters.  The EOPS Technician's job is to perform technical duties associated with the operations of EOPS.  These duties include establishing eligibility for EOPS/CARE

Nancy Diaz, EOPS Counselor
The EOPS Counselor provides academic and personal counseling to EOPS students.  The counselor administers and interprets study skills assessments.  The EOPS counselor also provides career guidance and information to the students.  The counselor is responsible for developing and facilitating study groups.

Candy Owens, EOPS/CARE Counselor/Facilitator
In addition to providing the same services as EOPS Counselors, Candy also works with CARE students.  She is responsible for recruiting CARE students, as well as remaining their main contact in EOPS.  Candy also offers specialized workshops for CARE students.

Larry Burns, EOPS Counselor
The EOPS Counselor provides academic and personal counseling to EOPS students.  The counselor administers and interprets study skills assessments.  The EOPS counselor also provides career guidance and information to the students.  The counselor is responsible for developing and facilitating study groups.

Graciela Acosta, Program Aid
The Program Aid assists the EOPS staff with a variety of task, including most clerical and receptionist duties.  Most often they are the first staff member an EOPS student meets.

Peer Advisors/Recruiters
This part of the EOPS team is supervised by the EOPS Student Services Coordinator.  The Peer Advisor/Recruiter provides a link between EOPS students and the EOPS staff, the campus, and the community.  This group is trained by the Student Services Coordinator, College Administrators, representatives from various departments on campus, and by several community services organizations.
