About Health Services
MiraCosta College Student Health Services
is available at both Oceanside and San Elijo campuses. The department assists the student with theirl physical, mental
and emotional needs. Our goals are (1) to help students achieve
and maintain total health so they may accomplish academic/vocational
success and (2) to educate students to take responsibility for their
own health. The Student Health Center staff includes registered
nurses, medical doctors, health educators, and MFT (Marriage, Family,
Therapist) interns who are trained to assist students who have medical,
health and life problems.

We focus our services and programs in the following areas:
- Comprehensive nursing services by registered nurses
- Health assessment
- STD information and referral
- Health education programs by RN health educators & community
resources
- Medical services
- Personal counseling
Student Health Services Program is supported by the mandated state
student health fee which is paid at registration. Most health and
medical services are provided without additional charges. Lab tests
required are offered at a reduced rate. The Student Health Fee supports
insurance coverage for accidents occurring on campus or at college
sponsored activities.
