Listserve
The listserve is a MiraCosta community e-mailing system where chapter members can interact with each other and be well-informed of upcoming opportunities to participate with Alpha Chi Lambda. After signing up, members can post appropriate questions to everyone in the community, or inform us all of any news that may be pertinent to PTK. It's also a great way to stay in touch and be conscious of coming events and exciting news. True, several portions of this updated website will act with similar functions as the listserve, but some information may only come through the listserve and miss the website all together, and vice-versa. Follow the instructions below to beginning receiving ACL news and information.
Instructions
Send a BLANK e-mail to
acl-l-request@mcc.miracosta.cc.ca.us
Add SUBSCRIBE to the Subject line, then SEND the e-mail.
Usually within a day you will receive a return e-mail saying you have been added to the listserve and you'll receive tips and instructions. Once a month there is a "Help" section posted to the list (this will include instructions on how to unsubscribe if you wish to do so.) From then on you will receive, as e-mail, anything that anyone sends to the list as an e-mail message.
We encourage all new subscribers to send an e-mail to the listserve introducing themselves, perhaps stating your major or main focus of classes and some of the hobbies and interests that you have.
Remember, what you send to the listserve is public, everyone on the list receives a copy. Think before you send. If you wish to reply directly to a sender instead of the whole list, DO NOT push "reply." Merely put the sender's e-mail address in the address bar, not the listserve's address.
Please don't send "SPAM" messages to the list and although your heart is probably in the right place, avoid posting messages about the latest virus warnings you've received.
If you have problems with this procedure, stop by the Honors Office in the 2300 building for assistance. Or call Ellen, the Honors Secretary at 795-6878. Her office hours are Mon-Thurs, 9-1.
