Coach Conahan is going into his fouth year as Head Coach of the MiraCosta Spartans. He brings with him a passion for the game as well as a long history with the college.
In 1996-97 Conahan red-shirted for the Spartans while coaching the JV team at El Camino HS. Between 1997-99 Conahan captained a team that finished 24-7 (PCC league Champions) and one that earned a 20-10 record (2nd place in PCC). He played under Clete Adelman who became his mentor and his close friend.
After his sophomore year at MCC he continued his playing career at UC San Diego. After one year away from MiraCosta, Conahan began his coaching career returning to the Spartans as an assistant coach. He kept this role for five years where his responsibilities included practice and game preparation along with recruiting. After Adelman's retirement in 2005 Conahan was the interim head coach for a year before being hired in August of 2006 full-time.
Along with his duties as the head coach, Conahan also serves as the Director of Intramurals at the college.
