5/10/08 DODGEBALL IS THE LAST TOURNAMENT OF THE SEMESTER

Despite a smaller turnout that usual the Dodgeball tournament finished with the Tutoring Center Team as the champions.  After the traditional tournament completed, the participants played in a "last man standing" competition in which Alicia Guerrero won three out of six games.  She dominated the other twenty players with a very deceptive passive-aggressive style of attack.

5/9/08  VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS

This semester's Volleyball tournament had a great turnout with six teams competing for the title of champion.  After a three game final, the victorious team represented the Monday night volleyball class.  The runner-up was the staff team led by Andrea Preti, a newly hired Italian Instructor.  The staff team also had strong contributions from Marty Spring, Trudy Fore, Ross Cipriano, Rica French, Gwen Partlow and Pilar Hernandez.

4/17/08 TWO TOURNAMENTS IN 5 DAYS

The Intramurals program put on a soccer tournament on Saturday the 12th and just a few days later went down to the San Elijo campus to run a video game tournament in the new student center.

The soccer tournament had 6 teams and showcased the most competive field since the program's inception.  Also worth mentioning is that there were more female players involved than any other tournament up until this point.

In the Video Game Tournament we had students play "Smash Bros" and Nintendo Wii (Bowling, Boxing, Baseball and Golf).  Winners were given gift certificates to In and Out Burgers"

4/07/08 SOCCER TOURNAMENT THIS SATURDAY

This Saturday, April 12th, we will have the 2nd soccer tournament of the semester.  We expect a large turnout but would like to include as many students and staff as we can.  If you have questions about making a team or registration please email Pat Conahan at pconahan@miracosta.edu. There is a captain's meeting Thursday April 10th at 2:00 in the gym.

03/10/08 FIRST SOFTBALL INTRAMURAL IS A HIT

The students and staff came to play, and then when we finished they stayed and played some more.  The die hard baseball fans couldn't get enough so they organized their own game once the Intramural game was over.  The Intramural Softball game had a major presence of international students, some from Professor Debbie Hanley's language classes.  Special thanks to Debbie, we appreciate the support.
