About the University Transfer Center

Welcome to the University Transfer Center web page. We are here to assist you in your transfer process to the college or university of your choice. The transfer process is multifaceted and you should work with a counselor to make sure your educational plan is appropriate for your goals. Once you have completed a MiraCosta College application and the English and math placement tests, please feel free to contact our office for an appointment. Where Do I Begin?

October News:

• October 2: CSU application workshop 11:30-1*
• October 7: Cal State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) admissions representative will be on the San Elijo Campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• October 8: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• October 8: CSU application workshop 4:30-6*
• October 13: University of California, Irvine (UCI) admissions representative will be available from 10-2 in the University Transfer Center for drop in questions.
• October 14: CSU application workshop 9-10:30* in room 1201 on the Oceanside campus and in room 107** on the San Elijo campus.
• October 17: UCSD will be conducting "Transfer Friday", an event for transfer students at their La Jolla campus. Reserve your spot now.
• Palomar college will host their annual college fair on October 20 from 10-1. Many colleges and universities will be represented this day, MiraCosta students are invited to attend.
• October 22: CSU application workshop 11-12:30*
• October 22: Cal State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• October 27: CSU application workshop 11:30-1 in room 1201 on the Oceanside campus and 2-3:30 in room 107** on the San Elijo campus.
• October 28: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on the San Elijo Campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• October 30: Career and Major Fair from 10-2 on the Oceanside campus.
• Do you have an educational plan? Call (760) 795-6880 to set up an appointment with a transfer counselor to create an individual academic transfer plan. Students must take the math and English assessment tests first.

*CSU application workshops will be held in computer classroom 1201 (HUB) on the Oceanside campus to assist you with the online application. Workshops are on a first come, first served availability. Bring an unofficial copy of your transcripts and a copy of your educational plan (if you have one). Log on to www.csumentor.com prior to the date of the workshop in order to establish your personal profile/password.

November preview:

• Workshops to assist you with your online UC and CSU applications. Please stop by the transfer center for a list of days/times. For UC applications, you can log on to www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions to establish your personal profile/password beginning in October. You can also get started on your personal statement that will be required for your UC application.
• Admission representatives from CSUSM, SDSU and UCSD will be on campus to answer your transfer questions.
• UCSD tour.

• The California State University application is available online.
• You can apply to a University of California school online.

• You must apply for IGETC certification when you request your transcript at the end of your last term at MiraCosta College.
