About the Transfer Center

Welcome to the Transfer Center web page. We are here to assist you in your transfer process to the college or university of your choice. The transfer process is multifaceted and you should work with a counselor to make sure your educational plan is appropriate for your goals. Once you have completed a MiraCosta College application and the English and math placement tests, please feel free to contact our office for an appointment. Where Do I Begin?

October 1- November 30 is the application filing period for fall 2010 at CSU campuses that are accepting applications. The California State University application is available online. The Transfer Center will be holding workshops to assist you.

November 1-30: You can apply to a University of California school online for fall 2010. The Transfer Center will be holding workshops to assist you.

For help with your personal statement please contact the MiraCosta College Writing Center or attend a personal statement essay workshop on November 4 (see below).

November News:

• November 2: College Fair - 10am-1pm. Location: Cafeteria in the Student Center. Meet representatives from the UC, CSU and many private universities (including Stanford).
• November 2: Application Workshop 4:30-6 in the Library Hub room 1201. No appointment necessary. The California State University application and the University of California application are available online. Please bring your unofficial transcripts and a copy of your educational plan.
• November 3: UCSD outreach event to high school students. Aztlan A & B from 6-7:30 p.m.
• November 4: The Writing Center will assist you with your personal statement for your UC or private school from 2-3 p.m. in room 1202 on the Oceanside campus. No reservation necessary.
• November 5: UCSD outreach event to high school students at the San Elijo Campus from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. in room 505.   CANCELLED
• November 6: Transfer Friday event held at UCSD for prospective students. Sign up now!
• November 9: Stop by the Transfer Center Office at the San Elijo Campus to meet an admission representative from the Academy of Art from 10-3.
• November 10: Application Workshop 12:30-2 at the San Elijo Campus in the Library room 107. No appointment necessary. The California State University application and the University of California application are available online. Please bring your unofficial transcripts and a copy of your educational plan.
• November 10: Stop by the Transfer Center Office at the San Elijo Campus to meet an admission representative from Pt. Loma from 11-1:30.
• November 11: Cal State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside campus, please call (760) 795-6880 to schedule an appointment.
• November 13: Campus Closed
• November 16: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on the San Elijo campus, please call (760) 795-6880 to schedule an appointment.
• November 17: Stop by the Transfer Center Office at the San Elijo Campus to meet an admission representative from Azusa Pacific from 10-12
• November 18: San Diego State University (SDSU) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside campus from 11-1 in the Cafeteria. No appointment necessary, stop by for the latest SDSU information.
• November 19: Application Workshop 2:30-4 in the Library Hub room 1201. No appointment necessary. The California State University application and the University of California application are available online. Please bring your unofficial transcripts and a copy of your educational plan.
• November 20: UCLA TAP/TRANSFER CONFERENCE. Contact Ellen Goldin at egoldin@miracota.edu or at (760) 795-6878 before Wednesday, Nov. 11 for more information. UCLA TAP/Transfer Conference
• November 23: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside Campus, please call (760) 795-6880 to schedule an appointment.

• Do you have an educational plan? Call (760) 795-6880 to set up an appointment with a transfer counselor to create an individual academic transfer plan. Students must complete the math and English assessment tests prior to their appointment.

• You must apply for IGETC certification when you request your official transcript at the end of your last term at MiraCosta College.
