About the University Transfer Center

Welcome to the University Transfer Center web page. We are here to assist you in your transfer process to the college or university of your choice. The transfer process is multifaceted and you should work with a counselor to make sure your educational plan is appropriate for your goals. Once you have completed a MiraCosta College application and the English and math placement tests, please feel free to contact our office for an appointment. Where Do I Begin?

November News:

• November 3: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on the San Elijo Campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• November 5: Workshop geared to freshman and their parents about "Guaranteed Admission programs to UC schools" at the San Elijo Campus. For more information please call (760) 634-7806.
• November 6: CSU/UC application workshop 4:30-6*
• November 7: ***UCSD tour*** Sign up is required! Join transfer counselor Jose Orrantia for a guided tour of UCSD. Van leaves at 7:30 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.
• November 12: CSU/UC application workshop 9-10:30 a.m.*
• November 12: San Diego State University admissions representative  will be at the Oceanside campus from 11-1 in the cafeteria. No appointment necessary.
• November 17: CSU/UC application workshop 9-10:30 a.m.*
• November 20: Cal State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• November 20: University of California, San Diego (UCSD) admissions representative will be on the Oceanside Campus, please call (760) 795-6880 for an appointment.
• November 25: CSU/UC application workshop 10:30-12**. The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) admissions representative will be at this workshop from 10:30-11:30 to answer any of your UC questions.
• November 26: CSU/UC application workshop 2-3:30*
• Do you have an educational plan? Call (760) 795-6880 to set up an appointment with a transfer counselor to create an individual academic transfer plan. Students must take the math and English assessment tests first.

*CSU/UC application workshops will be held in computer classroom 1201 (HUB) on the Oceanside campus to assist you with the online application. Workshops are on a first come, first served availability. Bring an unofficial copy of your transcripts and a copy of your educational plan (if you have one). Log on to www.csumentor.com for CSU schools and www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions for UC schools to establish your personal profile/password. A personal statement is required for your UC application.

• The California State University application is available online.
• You can apply to a University of California school online.

• You must apply for IGETC certification when you request your transcript at the end of your last term at MiraCosta College.
