How does Synchronous Online Tutoring work? (back to questions)
- Students access Online Tutoring through CCC Confer, the college’s powerful distance learning educational software.
- Students sign up for Online Tutoring by contacting the Tutoring and Academic Support Center.
- Online Tutoring occurs through:
- Real time conversation via a dedicated chat room, using internet and/or telephone.
- The use of an interactive whiteboard and application sharing technology.
- Study skills information is provided to help students with test-taking, time management, and note-taking techniques.
What do I need to Join a Synchronous Online Tutoring Session? (back to questions)
- Either a computer or a telephone line is necessary to participate. Using both is not required.
- Use of both a computer and a telephone are recommended for best communication.
- For minimum computer requirements, please visit the CCC Confer website.
- The telephone access number will be a Toll-Free number. Please note that if you use a cell phone, you may be charged to use airtime.
- Students sign up for Online Tutoring by contacting the Tutoring and Academic Support Center.
