Google Goes to College
Google is fast and easy to use, but now that you're in college will your search skills be up to the challenge? In this workshop, you'll learn tips and techniques for finding the best web sources to solve your information needs, whether it's personal interest or for a class assignment. You will also learn to evaluate the quality and credibility of your search results. Bring questions and tips and tricks to share with others. We can all learn from each other.

Library Science 101: Library and Information Strategies - 1 Unit
LIBR 101 is designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills they’ll need to navigate the 21 st Century information landscape. LIBR 101: Library and Information Strategies introduces students to the concepts of research planning and search strategies, in addition to the effective use of print and online research tools. LIBR 101 is a one credit, self-paced workbook course. Some sections of LIBR 101 are offered as open-entry/open-exit courses. Students may enroll in the course up to 8 weeks into the semester.

Library Science 108: Research Strategies for the Online World - 3 Units
How do I find scholarly information online? How can I tell if a web site is legit? Which are the best information sources for my assignments? Find the answers to these questions and more in LIBR 108, a 3-unit online course designed to familiarize you with the research options and help you develop advanced research skills. This is an online course taught using the Blackboard online course system. This is a standard, semester-long course and is NOT a self-paced course. (Offered Fall 2008)
