Hello, my name is JP Schumacher.  I have worked in the student services field for almost ten years, specifically on programs that help increase college access and success for historically under-served populations.  In June, I will be completing my second year at MiraCosta College.
Having served as Secretary for two Boards of Directors in the past, I understand the important role the Secretary plays in capturing vital information to facilitate communication and decision making.  Within one of the Board of Directors I served in, I represented my organization’s needs within a larger coalition of community organizations.  The skills I sharpened as a Board Member- particularly advocacy and consensus building- I plan to bring into the Classified Senate, if elected.
