Cheryl started her education at Portland Community College, then transferred to Portland State University, where she graduated with a B. S. in Business Administration-Accounting. She graduated with high honors, belonged to Beta Gama Sigma, National Honors Fraternity and passed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination at the initial application.
After completing requirements for certification, Cheryl worked in the banking and hospitality services industries and taught accounting at Portland Community College. She moved to Carlsbad and started her C.P.A. practice in 1988 and taught accounting at MiraCosta, Palomar Community College and UCSD Extension. She was selected as the Outstanding Business Instructor in 1992, 1993 and 1994 at UCSD.
She married and moved to Hawaii for three years starting in 1994 but maintained her accounting practice in Carlsbad until she sold her practice in 2006. She looks forward to her return to the classroom.
