WHAT IS A FACILITATED LEARNING SESSION (FLS)?

The concept of facilitated learning sessions is rooted in "best retention practices" literature by many scholars committed to the academic success of students. A Facilitated Learning Session (FLS) utilizes graduate interns and/or successful student scholars as facilitators that enhance group learning with students who attend academic support sessions related to difficult courses.   Faculty, staff, and students work collaboratively to critically analyze course content and improve understanding of complex material.
