Description


This course covers the principles and technologies involved in creating a Web presence for a small or medium sized business (SMB). Students create a starter e-business Web site or improve an existing one.

Course Outcomes

Electronic Commerce makes reference to many websites and other online resources. You should access the Web Links associated with the chapters for this book and open then as you do your reading. Download a zipped folder containing the Web Links for each chapter here.

Prerequisites


None; however, basic familiarity with the PC or Mac and Web browsing is strongly recommended. Basic Web site creation skills are also recommended.

    *All late assignments are automatically dropped one grade point.
Grading breakdown:
  • 900 and above = A
  • 800 - 899 = B
  • 700 -799 = C
  • 600 - 699 = D
  • 599 and below = F

Academic Integrity

No software may be copied in the CSIS labs except in the cases outlined in the college catalog; sanctions include suspension from the course.

Completion Requirements


The lessons and projects will have strictly enforced due dates by which you must submit your work. The purpose is to keep you on track with the rest of the class. You are encouraged to seek the help of your instructor, "open" lab instructors and assistants, and more experienced classmates in completing your lessons. You can also ask questions in the Canvas discussion area that will be answered either by your fellow students or the instructor.

In order to protect your transcript from unofficial withdrawals (automatic "F"), I may drop any student missing 2 or more exercises. It is still your responsibility to officially withdraw from any class that you are no longer attending.
