Welcome to my page. I love teaching for MiraCosta Community College. One of my favorite aspects of what I do is when students tell me my classes have helped them do their jobs better; helped them find new jobs; or simply helped them feel more proficient with software. A native Californian educated at UCLA, I received my B.A. in Theater Arts and my M.A. in Psychotherapy. After serving as an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles, I discovered the world of personal computers and the Internet. I recognized and embraced what they could do for people, businesses, and communities. I integrated business software applications into my own small business for several years, and I designed and delivered corporate training workshops.

I began teaching a broad spectrum of computer courses, with a primary focus on business applications. Before joining the faculty at MiraCosta College, I taught at Coconino Community College in northern Arizona, and I spent a semester creating the first computer lab for an elementary school on the Hopi Indian Reservation.

In addition to teaching for MiraCosta, I design, create, and deliver my own business-related computer training classes (including Oracle’s PeopleSoft) for the employees of one of the largest public school districts in the country. I specialize in building online, interactive tutorials, as well as developing other aspects of eLearning.

I hold Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications in Word 2007 and 2010. I’ve also dabbled in writing now and then, and I’ve started to publish my work on Amazon (primarily for eReaders). For fun and relaxation I like to spend time with my family, enjoy the outdoors, and play acoustic guitar.
