Born in Michigan, played baseball, was an Eagle Scout, graduated with honors from high school, received a B.A. and M.A. in psychology from Western Michigan University.
Migrated to San Diego in 1968 to pursue a doctoral studies in Human Behavior. Received a Ph.D. in 1972 and worked as a psychologist and taught psychology and management for Chapman University.
Completed an M.S. in Management in 1980 as well as a California Real Estate Brokers License. Broker/Owner of New Homes in San Diego County. Have auxiliary careers as Real Estate Investor and Property Management.
Had a dual career in Education and Real Estate until 1989 when became a full time faculty member at MiraCosta College teaching Real Estate Principles, Practice, Finance, Property Management and Computer Applications in Real Estate.
Created the Computer Applications in Real Estate course in 1995 which was one of the first in the state of California. Subsequently was instrumental in having the course become approved by the Department of Real Estate through introducing a Senate bill through the legislative process that was signed into law in January 1, 2000. Once the Computer Applications course was approved, a textbook was authored entitled Computer Applications in Real Estate with publisher Thomson Learning.
As a Licensed Educational psychologist, seminar specialties include Time Efficiency/Management and Stress Awareness and Reduction for Real Estate Professionals. A new venture is becoming a personal coach for personal computers on a consulting basis for real estate practitioners
Travels have been throughout the world including South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Australia. (see photo gallery.) Have lived abroad in England as a Headmaster of a school. Spent extensive time teaching military personnel on naval vessels throughout the world. Have had students from nearly 60 different countries ranging from age 16 to 83.
Goals achieved include climbing Mt. Palomar, Mt. Baldy, Mt. San Jancinto, Mt. San Geogornio and Mt. Whitney in California. Have also climbed Mt. Fuji in Japan and Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa. Other adventures include trekking to base camp at Mt. Everest in both Nepal AND Tibet.
Founder of Need to Exceed, an organization devoted to identifying underprivileged, potential significant achievers throughout the world.
Member of Real Estate Cyber Society with the designation as Real Estate Cyber Specialist.
