I was born in Cáceres, Spain, although I spent most of my childhood and
adolescence in Tarragona.
I obtained my Bachelors in Philosophy from Barcelona
University
in 1989. After that and thanks to a “La Caixa”
Fellowship, I attended graduate school at Indiana
University, Bloomington, were I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1995. I wrote
my dissertation under the supervision of Jon Barwise on the validity of using diagrams in Geometry proofs.
I have been a Philosophy Instructor at MiraCosta
College
since 1995, where I teach Critical Thinking, Logic, World Religions and
Introduction to Philosophy, mostly in San Elijo. I was selected Outstanding
Faculty of the Year by the Associated Students of MiraCosta College in 2000. In 2004-2005, I spent a
sabbatical year in Spain doing research on the relationship between science and
philosophy.
