SUMMER 2008 KEYBOARDING STUDENTS
This online course gives students the opportunity to choose one of three keyboarding skill levels. Each skill level requires a separate book. Below is a guide for selecting your skill level. Please look at the course syllabus, go to the course website to view the online program, and then select your level. You need a book to complete the drills. If you have obtained a book from a friend or on campus agency, you can purchase the ACCESS CODE ONLY directly from the publisher.
Beginning Keyboarding - for those who need to learn where to place their fingers, how to sit at the keyboard, and have not had a formal keyboarding course. This course emphasizes technique and keyboard drills - not speed.
Skillbuilding - for those who know the keyboard, use the correct fingers to key, and have a present speed of at least 25 wpm. This course emphasizes speed, accuracy, developing a rhythm, and improving present keyboarding performance.
10 Key - for those who want to learn the 10 key pad. This course only drills the number keypad - not the mathematical function keys. When keying, reach over to the 10 keypad for all numbers. Reaching up is not a recommended practice. This course emphasizes accuracy and speed for those who need to learn the 10 keypad.
