Picture of KathyI am a Carlsbad local and graduated from MiraCosta College and California State University, San Marcos with degrees from both colleges in Social Science with an emphasis in psychology and sociology.

I love being involved in education because I am always learning something new. I have worked at MiraCosta College for over 20 years. Prior to MiraCosta, I worked at Eldorado Business College teaching word processing and business courses.

My three jobs at MiraCosta include teaching computer applications and keyboarding classes for the Computer Studies Department; teaching  computer workshops  through Community Services; and working as an Instructional Assistant II for the Academic Information Services Department. I also teach online courses (PowerPoint 2010, 2007, & 2003, and Keyboarding) through Education to Go, a division of Cengage Learning. I have taken computer classes, but much of my computer knowledge is self-taught or has been learned on the job and by assisting students and staff.

I enjoy reading, learning, traveling, and spending time with my family.
