Born and raised in Southern California. A former and retired US Marine for 20 years. Lyle graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Arts in Education Curriculum and Instruction at the San Diego Campus. After retiring from the Marines, he started his hospitality career in 2001 instructing at Five Diamond and Five Star resorts in San Diego County.

Throughout his hospitality career, Lyle has had experience developing and teaching 38 human resources and hospitality classes to over 3,200 employees. He recently completed developing standards manuals for 7 hospitality departments consisting of 175 positions. Each standard manual was implemented using a formal performance based multimedia learning experience.

Lyle is a current Education Technology doctoral candidate at the University of Phoenix Online. His dissertation topic is English Language Learning: Assessing the affects podcasting has on non-English speaking employees in the hospitality industry. Lyle plans on continuing his research, even after graduation, by exploring ways to implement bio-psychology and kinesthetic in hospitality classrooms.            

He taught for 17 years in the Marines and the hospitality industry since 2001. Considering himself a life long learner, Lyle is taking his next step in life by sharing his passion for teaching at MiraCosta in Fall of 2010.
