The
project where I got to play with graphics a bit more, and
learned how to select areas of maps for focus and use more
Javascript behaviors in Dreamweaver to make an exercise
more interactive. Like the Titanic project, this one was
designed to answer a particular problem: students entering
History 101 (World History 1500 to the present) without
having taken History 100 (the first half). Such students
tend to know little about the basic foundations of the
major civilizations. I've always handled this with a handout
listing these features, but really wanted something more
interactive, and that I could reinforce with visual materials.
I've also wanted to work with some of the CIS/IMT folks, collaborating with their students. Since I'm not a graphic designer, this project provided that opportunity.

After they've gone through this unit: I do an exercise in class.
