Personal Information, Steve Isachsen

MiraCosta College is a wonderful place to teach and learn.

I grew up in San Jose, CA and after high school attended West Valley Community College where I completed the transfer curriculum for University of California, San Diego.

After graduating from UCSD with my BA in 1993 I worked in the financial and computer software industries for three years.  In 1996 I went back to school and completed my MA at San Francisco State University.  Upon graduation from SFSU, I returned to WVC to teach while working at Stanford University.  This led to an opportunity at San Diego State University, where I taught for three years in the Instructional Technology Services Division as part of the Baseline Access, Training, and Support California State University Initiative.

In the fall of 2001 I was hired as a full-time instructor in the Computer & Information Science Department at MiraCosta College.

My wife and I live in Carlsbad.  In June of 2003 we had a baby girl, Ella.  In July of 2004 we had a baby boy, Owen.  When I am not chasing after these two, you might find me here.  I also enjoy reading, playing guitar, camping, and surfing.
