Community Services Classes

It is our pleasure to offer classes and programs that provide you and your family with opportunities to learn, grow and develop. Community Service classes are available to anyone who registers with us. You do NOT need to be a credit student. There is NO application process. Classes offered through Community Services are not funded with tax dollars. Your enrollment fees keep this valuable program going. Thank you.

Offered in partnership with Ed2Go, MiraCosta Community Services has hundreds of online certificate programs to choose from. Designed to provide the workforce skills necessary to acquire professional-caliber positions for many in-demand occupations, these online career-training programs assist students in developing expertise in their desired career fields and/or preparing for industry certification exams. Each self-study, online course has an instructor assigned to answer student questions and solve student problems. This is the perfect in-depth professional-level program for people who wish to continue working while learning, or who need a flexible study schedule.

Driver Education

Go to http://miracosta.driversedusa.com to enroll. MiraCosta College, in cooperation with DriversEdUSA.com, is happy to offer the DMV Driver Education Course Online! Filled with animation, audio, video, driving demonstrations, and practice quizzes to prepare you for your DMV Written Exam. Once you complete your on-line Driver Education and receive your certificate of completion, you will need to sign up for Behind-the-Wheel training in order to get your permit. Package deal does not apply to online.

Electronics Technician

The Electronics Technician program covers the fundamentals of electronics and prepares the graduate for employment and/or further on-the-job training as a consumer, commercial or industrial electronics service technician. Electromechanical Technician

The Electromechanical Technician program is designed to provide students with a foundation in electromechanical technology that can lead to a career in fields such as, industrial maintenance, design and installation as well as technical services, technical sales, and industrial research and development. In/Outpatient Medical Coding & Billing

An inpatient is admitted to the hospital and stays overnight or for an indeterminate time. Often this means that there are significantly more tests, treatments, and codes. Medical Transcription

Medical transcriptionists transcribe dictated audio reports of doctor-patient interactions. Transcriptionists enjoy the flexibility of working from the comfort of their own homes, avoiding stressful commutes, costly day care, and office politics. Medical Transcription & Editing

Medical transcription editors correct and edit reports created by speech recognition software, which electronically translates dictations into text. Online Courses

Offered in partnership with Ed2Go, MiraCosta Community Services has more than 300 online courses to choose from. Courses are six-weeks in length, with new sessions beginning each month. With 24-hour access and expert instructors, you can complete any course entirely from your home or office, any time of the day or night. These online courses are informative, fun, convenient, and highly interactive. They are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links, and more. Courses start as low as $99. Outpatient Medical Coding & Billing

Coders translate medical records into Standardized numeric codes used to bill patients and third-party payers. All medical tests, treatments, and procedures must be coded, then assigned corresponding fees. To find out more, go online at www.careerstep.com/miracosta.

Pharmacy Technician

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Technician

MiraCosta College, in partnership with George Brown College, is proud to offer this interactive and highly innovative distance education program that combines state-of-the-art lab simulation with award-winning curriculum. This course provides the basic technical skills and knowledge necessary to work with electrical control systems typically found in an industrial environment. Emphasis is placed on the use and programming of PLCs in a complex industrial control system (both discrete and analog). Robotics Technician Certificate

This program provides an introduction to industrial robotics and explains how they are used in plants or manufacturing systems. The primary focus of the program is on automated manufacturing processes, the role of robots within these processes, and all related support equipment.
