Instructor notes: An on-line course means that the student must be extremely self-motivated and independent in his or her learning. With online classes you literally have to “show up”, turn on your computer, sit yourself down, read assignments, and participate. In some cases, it may take more of your time. If you were taking this class on campus, you would be spending 3 hours per week in class and then additional hours for each hour studying on your own. For this online class, please expect to spend at least 10 hours per week in order to successfully complete the course. Here are some links to see if online courses are right for you: http://www.onlinegwc.org/about_courses/2a.cfm http://www.ion.uillinois.edu/resources/tutorials/pedagogy/selfEval.asp Do not be discouraged if the online quiz states that distance learning may not be for you. You may just have to work on time management and other skills you will need to successfully pass the course. I will add students into the course only on the first day. This course condenses 17 weeks into 6 weeks with a very fast pace. I will only consider students who already have their textbooks to enroll in the class as the first quiz begins on Wednesday. If you are on the waitlist, please email me June 15th - June 17th (not earlier) to state that you are still interested and have a textbook. This way I know that you are serious about taking the class. We always have long waitlists. If already enrolled, please drop the class quickly if you are unable to attend. Once in the class, Welcome! Plan to have some great learning. I look forward to working with you. Warmly, Julie Vignato
