Child, Family, and Community

This course examines the developing child in a societal context and focuses on the interrelationships of family, school, and community as agents of socialization from historical, socio-cultural, and contemporary perspectives. The course highlights the processes of socialization and identity development, demonstrating the importance of respectful, reciprocal relationships that support and empower families in a culturally diverse society. This 17 week, fully online course begins on August 21st through December 16th, 2017. Students will receive a welcome letter with more information one week before the course begins.  Blackboard access with syllabus and a self-paced course orientation will be available on August 14th in preparation for the August 21st start date.  Please review some important facts and helpful information to get you started:

Course Access-This course will be 100% online. Students will attend class on line by logging in to the course LMS: Blackboard.

Zero Textbook Cost-This course provides a collection of readings at no cost to the student.  All required reading assignments will be made available to students through Blackboard.
