Statistics for Behavioral Science

This course introduces statistical methods for analyzing data in the behavioral sciences. Topics include basic research design; descriptive statistics, probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference and power; linear correlation and regression; t-test and one-way analysis of variance; chi-square. Students use appropriate technology (e.g., calculators and SPSS) to analyze real-world data and report results using American Psychological Association style. UC CREDIT LIMITATION: Credit for BIO 180, BTEC 180, MATH 103, SOC 104, PSYC 104H, or SOC 104H. C-ID SOCI-125.

Instructor notes: A great way to learn Behavioral Statistics. The course includes three exams that must be taken on the MiraCosta campus (or by arrangement at another proctoring center). The exams are taken at the Academic Proctoring Center, which has locations on both the Oceanside and San Elijo MiraCosta campuses, with hours typically in the morning, afternoon, and evening M - F. Students who have not logged into the course and completed the orientation activity by Tuesday of the first week of class may be dropped to make room for other students who wish to add.
